As a Senior Physical Scientist with OAP, I lead a project to transition community-based ocean acidification (OA) research models into NOAA’s operational forecasting infrastructure. Before this, my main duties were as a research scientist supporting NOAA’s Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC). I spent nearly 20 years with the National Weather Service at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Prediction, where I developed wave forecasting systems and led the first two implementations of wave model components in NOAA’s operational Unified Forecast System (UFS). I’ve also worked as a consultant building advanced ocean modeling systems for energy, oil, and gas industries across Australia, Brazil, and the United States. I provide contract support to OAP and the Global Ocean Monitoring and Observing (GOMO) program at NOAA Research.
