Courtney Cochran coordinates the Interagency Working Group on Ocean Acidification (IWG-OA) for OAP. The IWG-OA is responsible for coordinating ocean acidification monitoring and research activities across federal agencies. She will be overseeing new reports on coastal community vulnerability and monitoring prioritization that the group is responsible for writing.
Courtney earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Texas Christian University. She then received a Master’s in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California Santa Barbara, specializing in coastal and marine resource management. Her thesis work focused on analyzing gaps in ocean acidification monitoring on the West Coast and evaluating where ocean acidification hotspots overlapped with marine protected areas.
