Dr. Liza Wright-Fairbanks is the field research manager for OAP. She coordinates the NOAA Ocean Acidification Observing Network (NOA-ON), including OAP’s four regional coastal OA cruise campaigns, and a network of 15+ coastal OA moorings. She brings together OA observing experts to push OA monitoring and technology development forward.
Liza first joined OAP as a Knauss Fellow in 2022, specializing in capacity building and communications. She earned a Ph.D. in oceanography from Rutgers University, where she used novel autonomous technology to study seasonal acidification in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region. In her free time she can be found exploring the mountains with her dog, Benny.
